More About Belton, TX
Belton was originally founded in 1850 as the county seat for Bell County. Within ten years, the region had a school, courthouse, hotel, church, saloon, stores, and other businesses. The courthouse that stands in the town today was built in 1886.
There are several well-maintained parks, which make for a good picnic and recreational spots. The Bell County Museum is another must-visit place in Belton. Here you can enjoy the collection of historical artifacts of the Bell County area.
